Cubs CSA Hike 2026 🥾

On Saturday May 16th, twenty of our 3rd year (6th Class) Cub Scouts took on an impressive 21 kilometre hike through the Dublin Mountains as part of their CSA (Chief Scouts Award) programme. They showed great determination, teamwork and resilience throughout, on a less than ideal day for hiking.

Setting off from Kilmashogue Forest Car Park at 9am, the Cubs followed a challenging route across mountain trails and forest paths before returning to the same location shortly after 4pm. Despite the demanding distance, every Cub completed the hike with fantastic spirit and enthusiasm.

The weather certainly added to the adventure, with a mix of steady rain and several very heavy showers throughout the day. Wet gear and muddy trails did little to dampen the group’s morale, however, as the Cubs pushed on together and supported one another along the route. The hike was a great test of endurance and perseverance, and all participants should be extremely proud of their achievement in completing an over 21 kilometres hike in challenging conditions.
