Darkness Into Light 🌄

1st Meath Dunboyne Scout Group were proud to help with the setup of the Darkness Into Light event at Fairyhouse Racecourse on Saturday, 10th of May 2025.

With a 2:30am start, it was no easy task. However we had representatives from Cubs, Scouts and Ventures along with Leaders and Parents volunteering. All in all we had a group of 25 to assist.

It is such a pleasure to support this event in our own community, which highlights a hugely important topic. The faces on people, the conversations heard, the smiles, the tears… it gets people together and gets people talking, and is a form of healing and acknowledgement.

As the sun rose above the track at 5:30am, over 1000 participants completed the 5km course and made their way home again.

Our scout volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the morning and all have signed up again for 2026! 🌄
