Dublin City Marathon 2025 🏃🏻♂️
It was an early start for our sixty six (66) volunteers including Parents, Scouts, Senior Cubs and Leaders, who all gathered at the Dunboyne Scout Den from 7am, ahead of what was sure to be a long day operating the 22 Mile Water Station located on Fosters Avenue, just after the infamous Heartbreak Hill on Roebuck Road.
Being stationed on the second to last water station on the 26 mile course, ensured it would be a long day for all who volunteered. However our group was very much up for the marathon shift that would be needed, to take us through from initial water station setup on Fosters Avenue from before 8am, right through until after the last of the walkers made their way past the water station, and all rubbish and debris had been cleared up. #LeaveNoTrace
Even though the weather was somewhat inclement throughout the day, there was a great spirit of camaraderie between our volunteers. All who participated did our group proud and represented the very best of 1st Meath Dunboyne Scout Group and contributed to the smooth running of yet another highly successful Dublin City Marathon for 2025.
