Scout Spring Camp – 2025 ⛺
Spring Camp 2025 was spent in Lough Keel Scout Campsite in Co. Roscommon, with lots of water based and fun activities at the nearby Lough Key Forest Park.
On Friday afternoon of the May Bank Holiday Weekend, the Scouts and Leaders gathered at Maynooth Train station to make the trip west on the relative comfort of the train, up to the spalling metropolis that is Boyle. From there, a bus transfer took the group to Lough Keel Scout Campsite, which would serve as the base for the weekend.

After getting camp setup, and dinner was had, the Scouts built a roaring campfire and entertained each other with songs and stories for the first night of Spring Camp.
On Saturday, it was time to head over to the nearby Lough Key Forest Park, where the Scouts had a brilliant time taking on Escape Rooms, Kayaking and exploring Lough Key with the group’s own Kayaks, and making rafts from barrels and spars. Fair to say that some patrols were slightly more successful than others at this endeavor. They even managed to squeeze in a bit of Barrel Surfing….!
Back at camp, the Scouts were tasked with making a kitchen and barbeque from pioneering spars, and each Patrol were asked to cook up a three-course meal, which the leaders got to sample, and provide their feedback to the Scouts.
All in all the Scouts has a brilliant Spring Camp, and thankfully the weather played ball, which really made the weekend for all who attended.
